Nakaya Japanese Genno Woodworking Hammer - 225g
These woodworking hammers, called "Genno" by the Japanese, are used for precision chiselling, nailing and more. The octagonal shape with flat sides allows the hammer to slide across surfaces and strike in areas with minimal clearance. One side of the head is dead flat, perfect for striking chisels and nails. The opposite side of the head is slightly convex, especially for setting small nails while minimizing the risk of damaging the surrounding wood.
The perfect balance between the hand-forged head and the Japanese white Oak handle make this hammer a precision tool that is not only functional, but beautiful.
The striking head is selectively hardened, allowing the softer core to absorb some of the impact and lessening fatigue on the user. Handmade by master craftsman in Japan.
